Friday Ramblings

Que the “thank god for all things chocolate covered, it’s Friday!” introduction.

A few other things that make me happy today:

potrack Friday RamblingsThis pot rack. Ben was a very good husband and put this up for me. It now holds our new stainless steel kitchenware, which also makes me very happy.

Sno cones on my ears. I received diamond earrings as my wedding gift from Ben and haven’t taken them off since (mainly due to the fact that they are the tricky screw-post kind, but whatever they are SHINY and therefore go with everything), but when he surprised me with this pair I sat down for the ten minutes it takes to switch out the earrings. THAT’S HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM. He also bought me a pair of soft serve, fudgesicle, and hamburger earrings because, well, that’s just how amazing he is.

I pretty much reacted as if I ran into Gene Parmesan.

Oh, and don’t forget

WE ARE ONE DAY AWAY FROM HALLOWEEN. I really love this holiday because 1) I love costumes and 2) I love candy. Throw in some alcohol and “The Monster Mash” on repeat and you are going to have one hell of a good time.

Did you say PUMPKIN, pumpkin?

You know how you go to the grocery store to buy peanut butter and you accidentally buy natural peanut butter? And after you mix the oily goop and taste it and realize it’s not that bad, you’re actually proud of yourself for buying natural peanut butter. In fact, you ask your friends if they eat natural peanut butter, because you do, and you’re a healthier and better person for it. The next time you go to the grocery store you opt to buy the recycled paper towels, and the natural toothpaste, and the organic cereal. You pick up the crystal deodorant and decide to put it back – I mean, you’re cool and eco-friendly, not a damn hippy.

They way some people will buy anything with the words “organic” or “all natural” scrawled all over it? Yeah, I’m that way with pumpkin.

No, seriously. There is this shop in town that has a sign that mentions their new pumpkin-brittle ice cream. Now that’s a lot of textures to handle, but I only see one thing, and that is that they have pumpkin something. And I want it. Poor Ben is not even immune because he innocently washed his face with our spiced cider soap and while it is not pumpkin scented, it’s a fall scent, and that reminds me of pumpkin. Therefore I must eat his face off.

If your significant other is also in danger, might I suggest these pumpkin deterrents:
