How to get a good present at the last minute:

Step 1: Find a 6 month to a year subscription on Amazon.com. I recommend Real Simple, Domino, or Spin.

Step 2: Buy this month’s copy and attach a note that says “enjoy this subscription for yadda yadda!”

Step 3: Bask in their compliments.

You can also get someone a Netflix subscription (for as low as $4.99) if you actually know someone who is not on that bandwagon yet. Or a Flickr Pro account for all of your Flickerettes out there! Or, as my trivia team last night suggested, a big stocking full of “fuck you.” But that’s only for the naughty ones.

So I might have been stalking a pair of shoes from one of my Flickr friends for, oh, months. But I don’t like to spend $30 on a single item in Target. For thirty bucks I can buy five shirts on clearance, or mismatched plates, or thirty dollars worth of italian soda (it is SO worth it). No, I promised myself I would not buy those shoes for that price.

Which is why Target.com is the greatest thing ever.
